overview

Conscious Impact began supporting the community of Takure in the region of Sindhupalchok, Nepal following the massive 2015 earthquake that destroyed hundreds of thousands of homes across the country. The families of Takure were left without homes, and from 2015 - 2019, Conscious Impact collaborated with community leaders and families to support the reconstruction of a primary school, two children’s homes, 3 community centers and more than 70 homes.

Now, more than 8 years after the earthquake, families have finally rebuilt their homes, and Conscious Impact has shifted our focus to supporting local farmers to grow coffee, cultivate mushrooms and practice sustainable agriculture across the region. Additionally, volunteers and Nepali staff work in the nearby local schools to support youth empowerment through art projects, language classes, educational games and other extra-curriculuar opportunities.

VOLUNTEERING WITH CONSCIOUS IMPACT

During this “Takure and Trek” program, you will spend 5 days living alongside the community and supporting local staff and community leaders to practice sustainable agriculture, youth empowerment and natural building. You will visit coffee farms, learn weaving from local women, spend time at the schools and visit families for dinner in the community.

You will be completely immersed in our community work and in the local culture and tradition while also getting to experience our “Camp” where volunteers from around the world live together, cook together and manage a demonstration farm and living space. We look forward to welcoming you to Takure!

Hiking in the himalayan mountains

For anyone looking to experience the greatest mountains on earth, Nepal is the place to come. The Himalayas are absolutely beautiful, and hiking through the mountains is awe-inspiring. For this reason, we feel it is essential that volunteers that come to Nepal also get to experience “Trekking” or hiking through the mountains.

On this program, you will be partnered with Social Tours, a professional Nepali trekking company with more than 20 years experience hosting visitors from around the world. They will take you on “The Sacred Lakes Hike",” a 5-day trek to Gosainkunda Lake in the Langtang National Park, one of the country’s most sacred pilgrimage sites.

.

Come join us in nepal to experience the beauty and power of the himalayan mountains!
